Rhubarb Farm

Ongoing documentory photo series

Disability, mental ill health and substance misuse are some of the things that may place people on the outskirts of society.  Rhubarb Farm, a grass roots social enterprise based in Langwith village, makes it’s sole aim to provide everyone with the equal opportunity to gain work experience, therapy and training. In turn, this provides valuable skills and structure to the lives of those in need of nurture.

Over the past 10 months I have been photographically documenting the very complex and unique way in which relationships have been built between person and land, and the great things that can be achieved when we refer back to our roots.

I have witnessed friendships been made between groups of people which society would normally place barriers between.

I have witnessed people rise from very dark places and their lives be restored by the therapy that horticulture can provide.

I have witnessed the great things people can achieve when nurtured and encouraged to grow; Much like the seedlings they sow, which in turn produce fruitful and rewarding crops.
